At Local Roots December 27-31

Christmas is past, and the feasts with family and friends are behind us. Feeling stuffed? Enjoying vacation? Yeah, me too!

I'll have limited amounts and varieties of bread at Local Roots Market this week. Here's what you'll find on my shelves:

In the bakery case, you'll find cheddar dill rolls. Not sure yet if I will make anything sweet for the bakery case -- stop in later this week to find out.

At Local Roots December 19-24

Christmas is almost here! And if you're looking for fresh bread, rolls, or maybe even a special dessert to share at the family feast, well, I know where you can find some. (Local Roots, of course!)

I plan on taking a partial vacation between Christmas and New Year's, which means that I will bring a limited variety and limited quantities of bread to Local Roots next week (and none at all to Wooster Natural Foods). So stock up now!

At Local Roots December 12-17

Christmas is coming, and this Saturday brings another holiday Artisan Day to Local Roots! Come to the market to find a beautiful and practical selection of locally-crafted gifts from jewelry and clothing to wooden bowls, pottery mugs and dishes, and much, MUCH more!

In addition, Marilou Suszko, author of the new cookbook The Locavore's Kitchen, will be on hand to sign books. Her new book is my new go-to cookbook for seasonal produce ideas -- it is great!

--Saturday, January 7: Need to Knead? comparing regular bread dough with the no-knead method
--Saturday, January 14: Wheat or Spelt -- simple bread, pizza, and cracker recipes using these two related grains

Both classes are hands-on, so there will be limited seating. If you're interested, stop in at TKS or contact them through their web site!
