At Local Roots October 3-8

Do rainy days and Mondays always get you down? I bet a trip to Local Roots would make you feel a little better -- all that great local food, plus I hear there will be a delicious cauliflower-potato-cheese soup in the cafe for lunch!

Here's what you'll find on my shelves at Local Roots Market this week:

--Artisan wheat bread
--Basil pesto flatbread
--Cheese crackers (pepper jack)
--Cheese-herb artisan bread: cheddar-dill, feta-oregano, gouda-sage, Miami-parsley, maybe others
--Cinnamon-pecan bread
--Garlic-herb bread
--Garlic pesto flatbread
--Honey spelt oat bread
--Light rye bread
--Maple oatmeal bread
--Pain aux noix
--Pizza crusts
--Pumpernickel bread
--Rosemary cider bread
--Sandwich buns
--Savory apple flatbread
--Sesame thins
--Spelt bread
--Tea rings and pecan rings
--Whole wheat pita
--Whole wheat sandwich bread
--Zaatar flatbread

In the bakery case, you'll find three treats:

--The cheese rolls for the week will yet again have a melty core of Heritage Grass Farm Swiss cheese -- just the perfect side for a bowl of soup from the Local Roots Cafe!

--I'm planning to make a chard-cheddar veg roll with homegrown chard, Boii Gardens green onion, and Meadow Maid cheddar. Makes a quick and easy lunch, whether at the market or tucked into your lunch pail later in the week!

--The sweet treat is yet to be designated, but I'm feeling an urge to make something with apples, so stay tuned!

Sale! The summer herbal tisane blends that remain on the shelf are now on sale (20% off!) to make room for the fall/winter blends. (And I hope to have those out later this week.) Pick up some Dragon Tamer, Lavender Lemonade, or Lemon Mellow for a last taste of summer!
