At Local Roots October 10-15

The vibrant colors of the fallen leaves I see outside my window remind me that it's time to enjoy the cooler weather of fall (well, once this current warm spell passes) -- along with hearty breads. And of course, you can find plenty of those at Local Roots!

Here's what you'll find on my shelves at Local Roots Market this week:

--Cinnamon-pecan bread
--NEW! Cornmeal bread
--Garlic-herb bread
--Garlic pesto flatbread
--Honey spelt oat bread
--Maple oatmeal bread
--Pain aux noix
--Pizza crusts
--Pumpernickel bread
--Rosemary cider bread
--Sandwich buns
--Savory apple flatbread
--Sesame thins
--Spelt bread
--Tea rings and pecan rings
--Whole wheat pita
--Whole wheat sandwich bread
--Zaatar flatbread

In the bakery case, you'll find these treats:

--Cherry blue cheese rolls, with dried cherries from Moreland Fruit Farms, Headwaters Tomme blue cheese from Kokoborrego Cheese Company (NEW Producer!), and pecans

--Pain d'epices or French spice bread -- a not-too-sweet, not-too-rich tea time bread made with whole wheat flour from Stutzman Farms, buckwheat honey from Wild Flower Lane, butter and milk from Hartzler Family Dairy, and a touch of dried bronze fennel from Karen's Garden Delights

--Applesauce cake, with homemade applesauce from Moreland Fruit Farm apples, whole wheat flour from Stutzman Farms, fresh apples, and a drizzle of goat milk cinnamon caramel from Sugar Nanny -- this is my nephew's favorite cake!

--Rhubarb-hickory bread, with rhubarb from a friend's garden, hickory nuts from The Shepherd's Market, hickory syrup from Simple Products, and whole wheat flour from Stutzman Farms

Stop in and enjoy something new!
