At Local Roots August 22-27

It's almost time to head back to school, so it's a good time to check out what Local Roots has available for packed lunches and snacks. Be creative -- there's a lot of great stuff there!

I would, of course, recommend some good whole grain bread for sandwiches. So here's what you'll find on my shelves at Local Roots Market this week:

--Artisan wheat bread
--Basil pesto flatbread
--Cheese crackers (cheddar and pepper jack)
--Cheese-herb artisan bread: cheddar-dill, chèvre-rosemary, feta-oregano, Ludlow with basil, Miami Erie Canal with parsley
--Cinnamon-pecan bread
--Garlic-herb bread
--Garlic pesto flatbread
--Honey spelt oat bread
--Hot dog/brat buns
--Jalapeno-cheddar bread
--Light rye bread
--Maple oatmeal bread
--Pain aux noix
--Pizza crusts
--Sandwich buns
--Sesame thins
--Spelt bread
--Tea rings and pecan rings
--Whole wheat pita
--Zaatar flatbread

In the bakery case, I'll start the week with the last of the Italian zucchini rolls (just four, today only!) and then return with the summer salsa rolls from two weeks ago: tomatoes, corn, onions, jalapeno pepper, and fresh cheddar curds.

I'm also hoping to make some sort of peach cake later today for the bakery case... so stop by and see what I come up with!

Celebrate summer with Local Roots!
