At Local Roots May 25-28

Are you ready for the holiday weekend -- and the unofficial start to summer? Whether it rains or not, whether you're cooking out or hitting the road, here's hoping you find time to celebrate Memorial Day.

Here's what you'll find on my shelves at Local Roots Market this week:

--Baguettes and boules (part whole wheat)
--Basil pesto flatbread
--Cheese crackers (both cheddar and pepper jack)
--Cheese-herb artisan bread: cheddar-chive, cheddar-dill, and chèvre-rosemary
--Cinnamon-pecan bread
--Garlic-herb bread
--Honey spelt oat bread
--Light rye bread
--Maple oatmeal bread
--Pain aux noix
--Pizza crusts
--Pumpernickel bread
--Sandwich buns
--Sesame thins
--Spelt bread
--Tea rings (some with pecans)
--Whole wheat pita
--Zaatar flatbread

In the bakery case, I'll have two kinds of vegetable rolls:

--Pesto chèvre, with homemade basil pesto and Lucky Penny Creamery chèvre
--Spinach-snow pea curry (vegan), with spinach from Adonai Acres, snow peas and onions saved from last year (in the freezer), homegrown garlic, sunflower oil from Sunsations, hot pepper, and lots of spice!

Happy Memorial Day!
